One of the many ways we like to spread kindness is to provide new and gently used children's books to the Little Free Libraries throughout the city and surrounding areas.
Learning to read is more than just reading what is printed on the page. Its also about listening and understanding. Reading exposes children to a wide range of words, stories and worlds. Reading helps children build their own vocabulary and learn to use those words correctly. It gives them the understanding that listening is also vital to learning to read.
We purchase gently used books from an online book company that inspects the books before selling them to make sure they are in great shape.
We also look for great deals on new books from local bookstores to big box stores.
We do accept donations of books for this program as well as funds to purchase books. We accept books for all ages of children, from small board books to chapter books that are written and designed for children. If you would like to make a monetary donation, please click here. If you would like to donate your gently used children's books, please contact us and we can arrange a pick up.
If you know of a Little Free Library that is not pictured here, please contact us. We would love to add your neighborhood library!
